Miss You
Hey Dad,
I miss you. I want to grab my phone, punch in your number and send you a birthday text. I want to hear your laughter, see your genuine smile, and feel the warmth of your strong hugs. I want to be getting the kids ready to go play tennis with you. I want to make you a pear pie and whip up some burgers for your special day.

Changes
I never really thought this day would come. Sure, all life ends at some point, that’s beautiful. But it’s so foreign to wrap my head around. It would be hopeless if I didn’t know that you knew Jesus. I know you’re with him, laughing today, being wrapped in a bear hug, maybe surfing some clouds, growing your hair long again, worshipping him!
I remember you. I think of you often. I remember sitting by your bed, talking to you just hours before you passed. But mostly, I remember happy memories, hours of cuddles, tickles, Cars, and Kung Fu Panda, and I treasure those.
It’s hard to know that life is forever changed. That you won’t get to see the kids tomorrow on the 4th of July. That you won’t chuckle at their antics or give me that approving grin as you hold them. But just know, that you live on in our memories, and we can’t wait to join you in heaven.
The Hope
Thank you for leading a life of hope. You never forgot the purpose of life, to serve and live for Jesus. He was worth every sacrifice, and you lived honoring Him so well. I’m proud to be your daughter, and grateful for the legacy you left, the truth that you poured into me, and the wisdom you imparted, as I seek to walk my own journey with Jesus. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16. You’re my hope, Jesus. Give dad a hug for me today.
